Formatting of Order String CSV Files

The Price Verification Tool has a feature that allows users to upload a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file and have the system process it. The tool will take your CSV file, process it and output a results page and optionally a CSV file with the order string and price information.

In order to process your uploaded CSV file you must ensure that it is formatted properly so that the system can use it.

There are many methods that can be used to create a CSV file but the probably one of the easiest methods is to use Microsoft Excel or a similar program. To create a CSV file in Excel follow the steps below.

1.Open Excel (Office 2013 version is being used here)

2.In the first column enter the order string code you wish to verify.

3.Continue adding order string codes one in each row.

See the figure below for an example as to how your file should appear when complete.

Once you have entered all the order string codes desired save the file in CSV format. Select Save As from the File menu. Select a location to save the file. When prompted to provide a file name ensure that you select CSV (Comma delimited) (*.csv) in the Save as type: drop down list. See the example below.

Once the file has been saved to your computer you can upload it to the Price Verification Tool for processing. See the section titled Price Verification Tool for more information on uploading CSV files.
